Everything at 1st Rustington is run by volunteers, who all had various reasons for joining us, be it;

• to try something new
• to make friends
• to spend time with their children
• to do something good for their community and themselves
• to keep their body and brain active and happy, whether by running a camp in another country, sharing their skills, or just serving tea

Not every volunteer needs to be on the “front line” running Sections with our young people. There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes, so we’re sure we can utilise your skills within the team.

With everyone working together, we are making a huge difference to the young lives in this area, gifting them with #skillsforlife, and helping them to find what they’re really capable of as they grow.

All volunteers are DBS checked, and some roles do carry some training requirements to make sure you have the tools and knowledge to do what you need.
Don’t feel daunted by the idea of training though, most courses are now available online for you to work through in your own time, and for some roles, only take around 1.5 hours to complete.
